In the golden autumn of October, the campus was full of affection. On October 7, 2025, graduates of the Administrative Management Class 1 of the Grade 2011 from the School of Management at Wuhan Institute of Technology returned to their alma mater on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of their graduation, holding a 10th-anniversary reunion event with the theme of “Reuniting After a Decade, Recounting Teacher-Student Affection.” Filled with memories of youth and gratitude to their mentors, the alumni relived their friendship and renewed teacher-student bonds through a series of wonderful activities such as a teacher-student symposium, visiting the University History Museum, and re-walking the campus road.
Symposium: Reminiscing the Past, Discussing Growth
On the morning of that day, the teacher-student symposium was held in Conference Room 425 of the School of Management. Luo Qiong, Zhu Hong, Luo Ning, Li Yiwei, Wang Jinling, Sun Yong, and other teachers attended upon invitation.
Luo Qiong expressed a warm welcome to all returning alumni on behalf of the School. She introduced to everyone the changes and developments of the School of Management over the past ten years in discipline construction, talent cultivation, scientific research, and social services, and stated: “Alumni are the most precious wealth of the School. Every achievement you have made in various fields of society is the best embodiment of the university motto spirit of ‘Investigating things to understand principles, acquiring knowledge to practice earnestly’ (Ge Wu Ming Li, Zhi Zhi Du Xing). The School feels incredibly proud of you.”
Alumni spoke in turn, sharing their struggles in the workplace, sentiments in life, and harvest in growth over the past ten years. They affectionately recalled the beautiful times spent in the collective of Administrative Management Class 1 and agreed that the systematic thinking, humanistic literacy, and practical spirit cultivated during the university period were the core strength supporting them to move forward continuously.
Visiting the History Museum: Witnessing Legacy
After the symposium, the alumni collectively visited the newly renovated University History Museum. Under the guidance of the narrator, everyone walked along the historical corridor of the school, reviewing the glorious years and brilliant journey since the founding of the alma mater. Precious historical photos, heavy physical exhibits, and outstanding educational achievements allowed the alumni to deeply feel the profound historical accumulation and vigorous development vitality of the alma mater. They marveled at the ever-changing development of the alma mater and felt even more proud to be witnesses and inheritors of its glorious history.
Walking the Campus: Retracing Footsteps
Subsequently, facing the gentle autumn sunshine, the alumni embarked on a nostalgic journey of "Re-walking the Campus Road." Everyone specially returned to the "Taisu" and "Jiaofu" dormitory buildings where they lived back then, looking at the former windows, sharing interesting stories from those years. The past was vivid in their minds, and laughter was endless. This familiar yet new campus road not only linked up precious memories of youth but also witnessed the growth and transformation of alumni from inexperienced students to the backbone of society.
Dean’s Message: Blessings and Expectations
After re-walking the campus road, the alumni returned to the School of Management conference room, still intent on more. At this time, Professor Yan Huafei, Dean of the School of Management, came specially to have a cordial face-to-face exchange with everyone. He walked enthusiastically among the alumni, sat in a circle with everyone, and solicitously asked about the changes in everyone's work and life over the past ten years.
During the exchange, Dean Yan humorously recalled the scenes of teaching students in class a few years ago. Several alumni even accurately said the Dean’s “classic quotes” from that year, drawing constant applause and laughter from the scene. Dean Yan said with gratification: “Seeing that you are now taking charge in your respective fields and have become the pillars of your families and society, this is the most beautiful embodiment of the value of education. The School of Management will always be your spiritual home and strong backing. You are welcome to come home anytime to share your success and joy!” These cordial words made every alumnus present feel the warmth and belonging of home.
A New Starting Point
Ten years passed in a snap of the fingers, yet the friendship grows stronger. The return event ended successfully amidst warmth and emotion. Alumni expressed one after another that the one-day itinerary was fulfilling and unforgettable. They will carry this affection for the alma mater and alumni, keeping it always new. At the same time, they will live up to the gratitude of the alma mater’s cultivation, continue to work hard in their respective posts, continue to pay attention to and support the development of the alma mater and the School, and sincerely wish the alma mater and the School to have peaches and plums fragrant all over the world, climb new peaks, and write new glory in future development!
This return is not an end, but a new starting point. Looking forward to the next decade to compose a new chapter again!
